NSW: We are still an essential service in NSW and running daily classes in Sydney CBD and Parramatta

COVID-19 Update Tuesday 4th August 2020:

VIC Residents: Due to Stage 4 lockdown requirements CPR First Aid we will only be offering courses to ESSENTIAL WORKERS from midnight Wednesday 5th August.  All other clients in Melbourne public classes and private bookings will receive credits to book new dates after this lockdown period (from 21st September). Classes for the general public are open for bookings from 21st September, so any new clients can book now and complete the pre-course online theory requirements prior to your class date.

COVID-19 Update Monday 20th July 2020:

VIC Residents: As of 23rd July all attendees will be required to wear masks in our classes. We are approved to make adjustments to the assessment requirements for CPR and learners will only simulate (pretend) breaths on manikins without putting their mouths on any equipment.
So these new face mask requirements in Victoria will not affect our courses. However attendees without a mask will not be admitted, and should not be leaving the home without wearing a mask.

COVID-19 Update Wednesday 1st April 2020:

It was great to see Victoria Police doing their job and ensuring the safety of the community when they inspected our venue today. They were pleased with our social distancing and hygiene practices. So you can feel assured that our practices are exceeding requirements and you are still safe to book into classes, as we are an essential service.

If you are attending this week please see further information below:

CPR First Aid is an essential service, delivering CPR and First Aid courses to those working in essential services in Melbourne and Sydney. We are actively monitoring advice from the Australian Government, the Chief Medical Office and the Australian First Aid Training Council in relation to Coronavirus (COVID-19) and precautions we must put in place to ensure client health and safety in our classes.

1. We are an essential service and still able to deliver first aid and CPR courses
2. We are required to ensure 1.5m social distancing requirements as an educational facility
3. We have implemented stringent hygiene practices:
  - hand washing (20 second handwashing) before and after entering the class
  - hand washing after touching any equipment
  - handwashing is also enforced if a learner touches any personal belongings, such as a mobile phone, in the class environment
  - sanitised surfaces and equipment with antibacterial sprays
4. We have modified assessments:
  - no touching other learners in the classroom
  - learners will place themselves in recovery positions
  - 1 manikin per person
  - Social distancing during all assessment activities
  - Bandaging – learners to bandage themselves or their manikin
  - CPR – learners to simulate CPR and will not put their face or mouth on manikins, but will still be given alcohol wipes and faceshields in line with our standard practices

• We ask that anyone contact us or postpone coming to one of our classes if they have been in contact with any person with suspected or diagnosed COVID-19, or if they themselves are feeling unwell.
• Any client who attends a class with flu like symptoms will be asked by the trainer to leave. We must ensure exclusion of anyone showing signs of being sick in our classes, for the safety of our staff and everyone else attending the training session.
• Sick clients should reschedule once they have medical clearance
• Signs and Symptoms of COVID-19:
  - Fever
  - Fatigue
  - Dry Cough
  - Sore Throat
