The nationally recognised course code is HLTFA301C Apply First Aid (new national course code as of July 2011 from HLTFA301B), but it is more commonly known as Level 2 or Senior first aid.  You can enrol into this course for $85.00 per participant.  This course also includes HLTCPR201B Perform CPR.

*WEB SPECIAL: Apply First Aid just $85 for classes (normally $119 for phone/invoiced bookings)! Whether you are wanting to complete a refresher first aid course or completing one for the first time, this is the course you require.

According to the WorkSafe Victoria Compliance code for first aid in the workplace, this is the minimum acceptable level of training for first aid officers for workplaces.

There are no pre-requisites for this course, which means that you don't need Level 1 first aid or any other course qualification to enrol.

The course is made up between 2 to 6 hours of on-line home-study PLUS a single 5.5-hour practical session.

Alternatively, you can do the same course in the Express format which is a single 3.0 hour practical session.  However, you do need to show the trainer that you are competent in first aid theory by either showing evidence of recognised prior learning.

Class Times (including 30 min lunch break):

  • 8:00am - 1:30pm
  • 10:00am - 3:30pm
  • 4:00pm - 9:30pm

We recommend that you update this qualifiation every three (3) years from the date of issue, however the Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that you update the CPR component of the course annually.

The latest course descriptor from the Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council carries the course content, scope and range.

Xpress - Apply First Aid (EXPRESS)

This course is NOT for beginners, but for experienced people that need to refresh their qualification in a shorter class.
This is an abridged version of HLTFA301C Apply first aid. The practical session is shorter, and you don't need to do the theory work prior to the class BUT you do need to prove your competency in first aid. More time will be spent on assessment rather than teaching first aid skills.
