Perform CPR HLTCPR201B is also a component of this course and is trained using all 3 sizes of manikins (adult, child, infant) as per 2011 ARC guidelines.

You can enrol into this course for $85.00 per participant (normally $119)

According to the WorkSafe Victoria Compliance code for first aid in the workplace, this is the minimum acceptable level of training for first aid officers for workplaces. A similar requirement is made under the New South Wales Clause 20 of the Occupational Health & Safety Regulation 2001.

There are no pre-requisites for this course, which means that you don't need Level 1 first aid or any other course qualification to enrol.

The course is made up between 2 to 6 hours of on-line home-study PLUS a single 5.5-hour practical session.

Alternatively, people that are very familiar with the course content can do the same course in the Express format which is a single 3.0 hour practical session. However, you do need to show the trainer that you are competent in first aid theory by either showing evidence of recognised prior learning.

We recommend that you renew this qualification every three (3) years from the date of issue, however the Australian Resuscitation Council recommends that you update the CPR component of the course annually.

First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis in VIC (22099VIC) at MFA on Wed 08 Feb 2012 4:00PM

Anaphylaxis courses now just $60 per person!

Anaphylaxis management training is accredited training that includes information about allergies and anaphylaxis, recognising signs and symptoms, managing and treating an allergic reaction (including administration of an EpiPen® and the AnaPen®) and minimising the risk of exposure to allergens in children’s services.

The course on offer, First Aid Management of Anaphylaxis (22099VIC, formerly known as 21659VIC), is recognised by the Victorian Government for the purpose of the Children’s Services Regulations 1998.

The course runs for 3.0 hours, usually on a Sunday afternoon after the level 2 first aid course. It costs $60 and is never cancelled, even if you are the only person in the class! It includes the firing-off of a real epi-pen so that participants can get a really good understanding of the correct procedures and the equipment involved.

Xpress - Perform CPR (EXPRESS) at MFA on Thu 09 Feb 2012 4:00PM

If you know first aid we will assess you, not train you, in our Express version of the Perform CPR course. You must provide 2 copies of your certificates, including your current Apply First Aid qualification, when attending this course.

We know how busy life can be and we also know that people who do first aid need it for their qualifications for their workplace. So we now offer the Nationally Accredited HLTCPR201B Perform CPR Express 2 hour session for those of you who have done first aid many times before.

This course is not for people who have never done this course before, and you will need a copy of your current certificate as proof of your knowledge. If you have never done this course before please book into a full practical session, not this one.

Enrolment information is sent to you automatically after you book into a class. This course is nationally accredited and there is online theory to do before the training session. If you know your first aid then you will be able to complete the modules in less than 30 minutes.

Topics that are covered in the course are the same in all CPR courses however in the Express training session, your trainer will run through the DRS ABCD action plan and choking, then you will need to show us what you know from all of your prior knowledge.

There is an assessment at the end of the session and if all competencies are completed you will receive your certificate at the end of the session.

The cost is $50 per person and the class size is kept small to make sure that you receive the specialty training of a small class size.

Xpress - Apply First Aid (EXPRESS) at MFA on Thu 09 Feb 2012 4:00PM

Our sessions start at 4 pm at our Little Collins Street training room and all course information is sent to you automatically after you book into a class.

Topics that are covered in the course are the same in all Apply First Aid courses (previously known as Senior Level 2 first aid) however in the training session, your trainer will run through the DRS ABCD action plan & choking. It will then be up to you to show us what you know from all of your prior knowledge and the online theory assessment.

There is a short assessment at the end of the session and if all competencies are completed you will receive your certificate at the end of the session.
