5.75hrs plus pre-course online theory
HLTAID003 Provide first aid is the national first aid course required by all workplaces, and replaces courses previously known as Level 2 and Senior First Aid. This course is the minimum first aid course for any first aider in the workplace. Most first aiders will also be required to complete annual Provide Cardiopulmonary resuscitation renewal training depending on the industry they work in or their workplace’s first aid policy.
The course includes HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation (including defibrillation) and HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support.
Provide First Aid courses are available in several locations across Melbourne and Sydney. Go to ‘Enrol Now’ to see our available locations and dates. Scroll below the course calendar to view detailed information about course duration and further important course information.
You can read all about the course and the assessment requirements on this information sheet.
Participants are required to complete 3-4 hours of online study at home.
This study must be completed before attending the class. Participants will not be admitted to a class if they do not provide evidence of theory completion, and all fees will be forfeited.
The online study course consists of 10 modules containing multiple choice quiz questions.
After the online study is completed, participants must print off the completion certificate to present to the trainer on the day of the class. Without evidence of theory completion a participant cannot be admitted to the class and will forfeit course fees.
Participants will undergo several assessments in the class to gain their qualification.
The assessments are made up of three short theory tests (with multiple choice questions) and several practical exercises.
Practical exercises are completed in groups or pairs and will include CPR demonstrations and other general first aid procedures.
Students who successfully fulfill all requirements will obtain a digital Statement of Attainment in HLTAID003 Provide first aid (including HLTAID002 Provide basic emergency life support and HLTAID001 Provide cardiopulmonary resuscitation).
You can read all about the first aid course and how it works in the attached pdf document. The official course descriptor including course content can be found at http://training.gov.au/TrainingComponentFiles/HLT/HLTAID003_R6.pdf.
You can read our Terms and Conditions and the procedure for Feedback & Complaints in our Student Handbook, or contact our friendly customer service team for further assistance.
Whilst there are no pre-requisites for enrolling in this course,
there are pre-course requirements. All participants are required to
complete pre-course theory prior to attending their class. Failure to
complete theory prior to your course will result in forfeiture of
booking and fees.
Participants are also required to have a minimum level of Literacy & Numeracy to be allowed admittance to this course. Further information is provided in the student handbook.
Please note: this course requires participants to have the physical ability to conduct CPR on a manikin on the floor, for a period of 2 to 4 minutes, in order to pass assessment tasks. Other assessments relate to other emergency contexts where a life may be in danger or serious injury or illness has occurred.
