FAQs

  1. Are your courses nationally accredited?

Yes.  All our courses are nationally accredited.  CPR First Aid is the trading name of a registered training organisation (RTO No. 21903), overseen by the Victorian Qualifications and Registrations Authority.

  2. Where are the classes held?
We use the conference rooms of a hotel in Flinders St., in the Melbourne CBD.  The venue is conveniently located near both Flinders St and Southern Cross railway stations, tram stops and commercial car parks.

  3. How big are your classes?
We have a maximum class size of about 25 participants.  We can guarantee that there is one CPR manikin for each participant.  If the class gets larger, we simply put on another trainer so that participants get attention when they need it.

  4. What is the difference between Level 2 first aid, Senior first aid, HLTFA301B Apply first aid, and Workplace first aid?

There is no difference between the course content.  The various names are used by different registered training organisations in an effort to differentiate their products.

This course is the minimum acceptable standard level of training for first aid officers in workplaces, according to WorkSafe Victoria.

  5. What is the difference between Level 1 and Level 2 first aid?

The main difference is in the scope and depth of content.  Level 2 contains everything in Level 1 plus more topics.  Level 2 also goes into topics in slightly greater depth.

Level 1 is delivered as a 6-hour practical session.  Level 2 first aid is an 8-hour practical session plus a few hours of on-line study.

  6. How long is my certificate valid?

Level 2 and Level 1 courses are valid for three years, however the CPR component is valid for one year.

The CPR Update is valid for 1 year.

  7. Do I need to do Level 1 before doing Level 2 first aid?

No.  There are no pre-requisites for Level 2 first aid.  In fact, most of the people doing the course have never done any first aid at all.

  8. When can I receive my certificate?

At the end of the practical session, provided that the trainer is satisfied of your competency.

  9. Is it possible to fail?

Our trainers see it as their responsiblity to make sure that all participants are competent by the end of the session.  If you need help, they will make sure that you get it.

  10. Can you tell me about the e-learning or on-line study?

Once we have received your enrolment, we create an account for you on our e-learning site.  We then send you an email with a hyperlink to the site and your username and password.  You need to click on the link to open the site in your web-browser, log in and proceed to answer the questions.
